Architectural Tile
After observing the beautiful ornamentation on the buildings in the historic districts in Brooklyn, NY, the task was to develop an architectural ornament of my own. starting with a leaf found in one of the neighborhoods.
Ornamentation was a task of fine art, usually hand chiseled and carved. With the major shift from hand-made work to mass production, and processes like CNC and 3d printing, can and has ornamentation made that same transition?
Developed in Autodesk Maya and finalized in Rhino.
